Welcome!
Thank you for taking the time to stop by my site. I’m assuming you’re possibly here because you like what you saw on my social feeds, or you’ve found my name on Google. However you got here, it’s nice to see you.
Over the years, I’ve dabbled in various areas of photography starting with landscapes (which are nice and easy for a beginner, because they don’t move! 😅), and I’ve more recently settled on Theatre photography, working with Giffnock Theatre Players. Shooting for theatre companies is definitely challenging due to lighting arrangements etc., but it can be very rewarding.
Below you’ll find a little selection of past images.
Theatre Work
I was given the opportunity to shoot with Giffnock Theatre Players in 2014 as they prepared to stage Macbeth. They were kind enough to let me shoot everything – from the auditions, read through, rehearsals and performance of the famous “Scottish Play”. This was the catalyst which really got me interested in shooting plays, something which I’ve been doing with GTP over the last nine years now! It’s been an amazing experience that’s allowed me to improve immensely.
In all the time I’ve been shooting, I’ve also enjoyed using different cameras and formats. From 35mm film; cropped sensor, polaroid, full frame digital and back to APS-C with my current workhorses; the fantastic Fujifilm X-T2 and X-T1 mirrorless cameras.
I’ll be updating my posts fairly regularly related to past theatre shoots and I’ll look to try and provide some technical details for those that are interested too.
Cheers
Kev
